Eugene Flagler Obituary

STURGIS - Eugene Robert Flagler, 49, Sturgis, died Monday, October 11, 2004, at his residence in Sturgis. Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. A rosary and Christian prayer service will be held Thursday, October 14, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 15, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Arnold Kari officiating. Eugene was born January 17, 1955, at Worms, Germany, to Richard and Ingrid (Peter) Flagler. When he was a young boy, his family moved to the United States, where they lived in Missouri, Georgia, and Wisconsin before moving back to Mites, Germany. They returned to the United States and lived in Hutchinson, KS, and moved to Sturgis in 1971 when he was a sophomore in high school. Eugene graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1974. He attended Vo-Tech and worked as an Engineering Technician at Magnetic Peripherals in Rapid City. Eugene married Nancy Hercher at Rapid City on August 3, 1984. He later ran his own business in Sturgis. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Flagler, Sturgis; two sons, Evan Flagler and his special friend, Zsanna Strauser, and Matthew Flagler, all of Sturgis; one daughter, Angelia Flagler, Sturgis; one granddaughter, Kailyn Jade Flagler, Sturgis; his father and stepmother, Richard and Ginny Flagler, Spokane, WA; one sister, Peggy, Box Elder, SD; his mother-in-law, Dolores Hercher, Rapid City; and many friends that were his family. His mother, his father-in-law, his grandparents, and a special friend, Jon Pullins, preceded him in death. A memorial has been established.
