Hisako Schnose Obituary

LAS VEGAS - Surrounded by her family at her daughter's home in Las Vegas, Hisako "Midori" Schnose, 80, passed into the loving arms of angels to be with our Heavenly Father Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 27, 1929, in Yokohama, Japan, Midori was the tenth child of the Ishii family. She enjoyed school and sports, and attended Business College and seamstress school. A handsome U.S. Navy man swept her off her feet and the start of a lifelong, beautiful marriage began on Dec. 2, 1952. She accompanied Gene to South Dakota where they started their wonderful journey together. Proud of her Japanese ancestry, she was equally proud to become a naturalized U.S. Citizen. Midori enjoyed life to the fullest with a great sense of humor and love for family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were sewing beautiful, award-winning garments, ballroom dancing, oil painting, swimming, playing bridge, golfing with her buddies, and fishing trips with Gene. She excelled in the culinary arts and enjoyed entertaining with dinner parties for her many friends. Midori shall forever be alive in the hearts of those she touched and who were blessed to have known her. She will be greatly missed by devoted husband Gene; daughter Denise of Las Vegas; son Danny of Wagner, S.D.; grandchildren Ben, Makelika, Dallas, Danny Jr., and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and sisters, daughter Susan Kay, and granddaughter Rebecca. A memorial service will be held at The Lakes Lutheran Church in Las Vegas. She will eventually be interned at the Black Hills National Cemetery awaiting her beloved husband to join her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Arrangements are being made by Simple Cremations, Las Vegas.

to all of the family of Midori
When I was younger I remember she made all the cheerleaders outfits one year at the Interior School and then when I was older I worked with her, Gene & Denise at the Cedar Pass Lodge, she was always so kind and always so busy
I remember her fondly, take care and God Bless

Danny and Family,

My condolences to you and your family at the loss of your beloved Mother. I went to school with you in Pine Ridge in the seventies and often wondered what became of you. May God bless you and comfort you during this difficult time.

Gene and Family: A note to offer my sympathies is the loss of Midori. My name is Saunie Wilson, Dick Wilson's daughter, and I worked at the bank in Pine Ridge as a very young person. I rememeber Midori and her mother when you first came to Pine Ridge. I loved her cooking and her ability to adjust, and thought of her often as I have aged. She was able to make this strange place her home. I pray your memories take you passed sadness. Saunie Wilson
