Janet Fearon Obituary
Janet was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Huron to Orvel Maynard and Dorothy Lucille (Roberts) Schmit.
She grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a clerk in administration. She was honorably discharged and returned home.
Janet lived in many places throughout her life. She worked as a waitress, telephone operator, bank teller and several other occupations.
She married Francis Fearon in Broomfield, Colo., on Dec. 21, 1984.
Survivors include her daughter, Renee (Scott) Kracht, Summerset; her parents, Orvel and Dorothy Schmit, Huron; one brother, Thomas Maynard (Cheryl) Schmit, Las Vegas; three sisters, Leona (Bernard) Kowalke, Spearfish, Cindy Gabert, Rapid City, and Linda (Donald) Schuetzle, Wittman, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Madison Lynn Marie Kracht.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, whom she will be buried with.
Committal services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may gather at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis prior to leaving for the cemetery.
