Loris Krause Obituary
Loris was born Feb. 18, 1937, to Jacob and Bertha (Bruce) Bachmann in Bonesteel and was raised in the Gregory area. She married Larry Krause on April 26, 1955, in Pipestone, Minn. They began their married life in Sioux Falls, then moved to Mitchell and then to Rapid City where they made their home since 1960.
Loris was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed baking, flower gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Terry (Vicky) Krause, Pam (Dale) Hatzenbuhler and Derrick (Karry) Krause, all of Rapid City; brothers, Wally Bachmann, Colome, Gordy Bachmann, Tacoma, Wash., Jack Bachmann, Winner, David Bachmann, Tampa, Fla., and Ted Bachmann, Puyallup, Wash.; sisters, Janice Lynn, Spring Hills, Fla., and Hazel "Liz" Couch, Brandon, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Hope, Tessa, Sara, Tara, Justin, Molly and Cassandra; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Max, Bode and Avery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry, in 2003; son, Jeff in 1982; and two brothers, Jim and Hank.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Kirk Funeral Home and for one hour before services.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home, with Elder Wally Bachmann officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.
A memorial has been established to the Meals on Wheels Program of Rapid City.
