Rebecca Mary Hunter Ramos

RAPID CITY - Rebecca Mary Hunter Ramos, 77, of Rapid City, passed away Thursday November 6, 2003 at R.C. Regional Hospital in Rapid City. She was born on March 1, 1926 in Kyle, SD, to Stephen and Maggie Hunter. Rebecca was a graduate of the Holy Rosary Mission. She married Federico Ramos on February 2, 1948 in Gordon, NE. She was an active member of the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church and loved sewing, cooking and crocheting. She worked throughout her life as a home health care aide. Rebecca was a mother who was always there for her family and will be missed. She is survived by her husband, Federico Ramos, of Rapid City, her daughter, Maria Ramos, of Rapid City, and five sons; Monnie, Manuel, and Maurice Ramos of Rapid City, Martin Ramos of Lincoln, Nebraska and Federico (Kookie) Ramos II of Booneville, Arkansas. Her brothers, Sidney and Junior Hunter; and her sisters Patsy Jackson and Colleen Zephier; 8 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mateo, four brothers and one sister. A viewing will be held on Sunday at St. Isaac Jogues Church from 5 p.m. to the 7 p.m. Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church 10 a.m. Monday, November 10 with Fr. David Matzko officiating. Burial will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell, Paula & Quinn Funeral Home in Rapid City.
