Ruth I. Baer
HOT SPRINGS - Ruth I. Baer, age 93, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away July 10, 2024, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD.
Ruth was born December 2, 1930, to William and Lydia Feickert at their homestead in Leola, SD. Following graduation from Leola High School (Class of 1948) she married Andrew Baer in 1951.
Firmly planted in her unwavering belief that "Family is everything", her survivors include sons: William (Debbie) Baer of Denver, CO, Larry (Peggy) Baer of Tucson, AZ, Dale (Karen) Baer of Spearfish, SD, Robert (Jeri) Baer of Gillette, WY; daughters: Sherry (David) Johnson of Boise, ID, Ruth (David) Manley of Rawlins, WY, and Joy (John) Lee of Rapid City, SD; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Anxiously awaiting her arrival "on the other side" are husband, of 62 years, Andrew, Jan Baer, and Mike Baer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD. The family will hold a memorial 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the reunion hall at Palmer Gulch. A memorial has been established in Ruth's name for the activities fund at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice Veterans Home. Ruth said she went "whenever the bus went." he did love to go!

Ruth was an Honorary Member of the Old Cronies Motorcycle fellowship whose mission is to raise money for Veterans and their families who have paid the highest price. Ruth was an also an Honorary Member of Steel Stilettos.
