Sandria Friske Obituary

RAPID CITY - "Joy comes in the morning," was a favorite saying of our very dear loved one, Sandria Mae Friske, who went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 17th, 2008 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver. She prayed for God's Grace & the Precious Blood of Jesus on everyone, each morning. She loved the Lord with all her heart & her family & friends dearly. She was a light to everyone she met. When anyone was troubled, she would say, "God is greater than any of our problems, turn it over to him." She would never let any earthly problems steal her joy of the Lord, waking up each morning with a smile. Sandria met John at the BH Water Ski Show where she was a performer. After their marriage in Fall River County, they started their home in Rapid City, after several years moved to New Ulm, MN and returned to Rapid City in 1981. Sandria dedicated her life, energies and talents in many different ways to help others. In MN she won awards for the American Heart Association including top chairperson for the state. She also sat on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society in RC and the West River History Conference, of which she is a published author. She helped to create many memories with the Photography and photo finishing business she had with John. During her lifetime she was also a dance instructor for Arthur Murray, participated as Belle Star and Calamity Jane for the Shoot Out in Hill City & much more. She was an active Mom with her children in Scouting, Dancing & Horseback Riding. She traveled with her family on many vacations around the country. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Morf, and father Elmer Bren, brother Eldon Bren, and her grandparents. She is celebrated by her husband, John, children Mari (Friske) & Tim Sheldon, Marc & Denise Friske, Marissa (Friske) & Andrew Martin, grandchildren; Garrett, Alexa, Manda, Matthew, Jordan, Blake, Connor, Kayla, Gavin and soon to be great grandchild. Sister, LoRae & Brother-in-law Dave Snyder, Mother-in-law, Erma and other extended family and friends. She was an inspirational Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt Cousin & Friend. Services will be held at Open Bible Christian Center, 2225 E. St. Patrick, Rapid City on Saturday April 26th at 10:00am. Sandria and Johnwere so kind when I first brought out my daycare and grandchildren, you treated us so nice. Then when I moved to Hardin and started bringing out my foster children that never had known anything about trips you and John both showed them such a wonderful time taking their pictures, You are an angel, God had a special place for you, even though you are terribly missed by family as welll as friends we know HE has you by HIS side. John, I am here if you ever need to call. The children were devastated when they leaned of Sandria, they all send their best.

Dear Aunt Sandy,

I know we did not spend alot of time together but I wish we could have spent more time. I know you were very loved by all and I know my kids knew you better than I did But I just want you to know I won't let them forget the Aunt they knew. Please say hello to my daughter. I am sorry we were not closer but I am truly sorry for that. I know you will be watching over everyone..May you be at peace and may you help all those that will grieve for your absence.

I will miss you Dear Aunt Sandy. You lead me thru many troubles and are in inspiration now and forever. I did not have enough time with you. So I will have to do that when I come to you at the end of my earthly life.
You are one of the most beautiful women in the world.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
