Walter Schochenmaier Obituary

CHAMBERLAIN - Walter "Walt" Schochenmaier, 77, Chamberlain, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Mid Dakota Medical Center in Chamberlain. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Survivors include his wife, Alice Schochenmaier, Chamberlain; one daughter, Beth Schochenmaier, Chamberlain; four sons, Glen Schochenmaier, Lemon Grove, Calif., Rick Schochenmaier, Oacoma, Dick Schochenmaier, Mitchell, and Terry Schochenmaier, Las Vegas; two sisters, Alice Mae Jons, Bonesteel, Neb., and Bertha Haidle, Belle Fourche; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at United Church of Christ in Chamberlain. Burial will be at a later date.
