Charlene B. Holt, 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on April 27th, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM, after a long and wonderful life. Charlene is survived by her four children, Michael Holt and wife Elaine, Shelley Plath, Cindy Wade and husband Michael and Matthew Holt and wife Diane. Charlene is also survived by her eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Charlene was born on March 25th, 1929, the last of five children born to Nina and Carle Belt in San Marino, CA. She spent most of her early years and into her twenties in California where she met the love of her life Ira. They were married in Midland, TX on May 10th, 1952. From there they began their wonderful life having children and moving around as Ira was in the military, finally settling in Albuquerque, NM in 1957. They retired to the beautiful town of Hamilton, MT in 1985. Charlene moved back to Albuquerque to be near her children after the death of Ira in 2019. Charlene had a genuine love for life. She loved to garden, watch the Montana wildlife, travel and have yearly visits from her family. One of her favorite places to visit was Catalina Island, CA, which also become one of her family's treasured places to visit with her. Her real joy was her faith. Charlene served her God, Jehovah, with a zeal many would love to imitate. She loved being in her ministry work and served as a regular pioneer for more than the last twenty years of her life. She participated in the ministry several days a week until her death. Due to the restrictions on large gatherings, a virtual memorial will be held on Saturday, June 5th, 2021 at 2:00 pm. So many wonderful memories over the years of Char as friend and sister-in-law. Visits in Albuquerque and here in Escondido, weddings of her children to attend, and back to adventures as a sorority sister. She will be missed by many but all know she will be welcomed in Heaven.
