I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Penny. I will always remember her zest for life, her dedication to the children she taught at Sisson School and her huge heart. May her memory bring you comfort.

Penny was a very special teacher and friend. Working with her was a treat. My son blossomed in her class because she allowed him and encouraged him to give book reports on Vietnam Tunnel Rats books! He came to her as an almost non-reader! Of course, she was often heard asking her fellow teacher, John Davis, a former Marine, if what my son wrote in his book report was accurate to the book, (small print, 2 inches thick!) He is such a better reader today because of her "acceptance" and encouragement. Thank you, my friend.

I worked with Penny at Sisson in Mount Shasta for many years. She was a friend and colleague. She had so much energy and was a joy to work with - I feel blessed that our paths crossed and I had that magical experience of knowing her. She was both of my children´s seventh grade language arts teacher and they both remember her fondly. Fred I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and may all the beautiful and cherished memories you have of dear Penny be a comfort to you in the months ahead. Blessings Chris Carter, her English Friend.
