Ruth (Dugan) Dillon
HAMILTON -Ruth (Dugan) Dillon passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022, surrounded by her family at Discovery Care Nursing Center in Hamilton, MT. She was born to Emanuel and Caroline Schauer in Dawson, ND on October 17, 1924. She married Thomas L. Dugan on August 29, 1943, and they had five children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Dawson, ND. She was employed at the Baptist Home for the Aged for 2 1/2 years in Bismarck, ND before moving to Missoula, MT. In August of 1966 she started working at Hillside Manor and in 1967 she received her C.N.A. certificate at the Missoula Vo Tech and continued working at Hillside Manor for 23 1/2 years. She received her 20-year Gold pin August 1, 1986. In June 1990 she semi-retired from Hillside and became self-employed in-Home Health Care. She has spent the last 22 years in Hamilton, MT at Sapphire Lutheran Retirement Home, and Valley View/Discovery Care Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Caroline Schauer; six sisters, Emilia, Magdalena, Anne Marie, Bertha, Pauline, and Lydia; three brothers, Richard, Theodore, and Vernon (Rusty); and the father of her children, Thomas.
Surviving her are two brothers, Melvin (Joyce) Schauer, Wishek, ND, Gilbert (Audrey) Schauer, Longview, WA; and her five children, Sandra (Charles) Neal, Helena, MT, Sherwin Dugan, Stevensville, MT, Julene (Rodney) Parker, Hamilton, MT, Michael (Melissa) Dugan, Centralia, WA, Marlys (Gregory) Clark, Cocoa Beach, FL; and eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Viewing will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 pm. Interment will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery in Stevensville on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at 11 am. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, at Daly Leach Memorial Chapel in Hamilton with a reception following in the funeral home's community room. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in memory of Ruth. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
