Sherman Williams Obituary
Born on January 4, 1940, Sherman proudly served in the Army National Guard from October 1956 to February 1964. A lifelong outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing and was deeply proud of his country. His work as a logger defined much of his life-he often shared colorful stories from those "glory" days with warmth and humor. After retiring from logging, he took pride in meticulously maintaining golf courses, always striving for excellence in every task.
Sherman's life was enriched through his marriages to Connie and Loretta in his earlier years. On January 26, 1980, he married Deloris "Dee" Williams, with whom he shared nearly four decades until her passing in 2019.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Sheri Kern and Dan; Rodney Williams; Terry Williams and Karen; Ray Williams; Jeff Bemrose and Kim; and Janelle Taberna. He also leaves behind his sister Hazel Bateman; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Sherman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dee; parents Raymond and Alta Williams; brothers Robert and Howard Williams; sister Lois Brenchley; stepson Jerry Bemrose; and many other dear friends and relatives whose absence he felt deeply.
A celebration of Sherman's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at noon at NorthStar Baptist Church, 8145 N. Ramsey Road in Hayden, ID. His ashes will be spread on May 2, 2026, in Montana's Bitterroot Valley-a place close to his heart. Receptions will follow both services.
We will forever cherish Sherman's laughter and the love he brought into our lives. His spirit lives on in all who knew him.
