Edward Smith Obituary

Edward James Smith, 66, of Marshall, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Boone County Center in Columbia.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on April 10, at Marshall Pentecostal Church with Rev. Pete Swaringam officiating.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
Ed was born on December 10, 1951, in Louisiana, Mo. to the late Norman Smith and Eleanor Braxton Smith Shepard. He was a 1969 graduate of Louisiana High School.
After graduation he worked at Pike County Memorial Hospital as an x-ray/lab technician and paramedic. He married Joyce Cheek on June 18, 1982. In 1985 he moved to Marshall where he worked at Marshall Habilitation Center until retirement.
He was a member of Marshall Pentecostal Church where he served as associate pastor.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, children Nicole Dike, Deirdre Jelks, Hope Morton, James Tittsworth (Anna), Deana Tittsworth, and Elizabeth Thomas (Kevin), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters Bette Maxwell and Joyce Bell (Rudy), and brother Norman Smith, several nieces and nephews, aunt, Freida Johnson, and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by one daughter, Terressa Hughart.
Pallbearers were Zachery Hughart, Justin Hughart, Cody Hughart, Scott Thomas, Lamonte Smith, Kevin Thomas, and Dustin Tittsworth.
Memorials may be made to the family's choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
