Barbara Blatt Obituary
Barbara Lou Blatt, 78, of Muhlenberg
Township, died May 8, 2016 in Reading
Hospital and Medical Center, after a
courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was the wife of Ralph William Blatt. Married on September 7, 1957, they
celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Born March 31, 1938 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George Philip and Bernardine Marie (Hiester) Bettler.
Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
Barbara loved spending time with her family and, as a homemaker, lovingly raised her children and grandchildren.
Also surviving are her four children: William R., husband of Mary Colleen (McMenamin) Blatt, of Muhlenberg Township; Christina M., wife of Thomas D. Breneman, of Mohnton; Robert W., husband of Christine A. Blatt, of Lower Alsace Township; and Brian G., husband of Patricia L. (Long) Blatt, of Muhlenberg Township.
Other survivors include her eight grandchildren: Erin M., wife of Salvatore Alfano Jr.; Brandon R. Blatt; Troy T. DuGuay II; Molly E. Blatt; Evan C. Blatt; Jillian N. Blatt; Melissa J. Blatt and Margaret A. Blatt; and her two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Alfano.
Barbara was predeceased by her two siblings, Jeananne Wert and Edward Bettler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3139 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 and Thursday morning from 8:30-9:15 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
