Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. - West ReadingRobert B. Coleman, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, in the care of Reading Hospital. He was the widower of Nancy L. (Kissinger), who passed away on June 14, 2021.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Alfred H. and Lillian M. (Zwicky) Coleman. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1956 before honorably serving in the United States Army. For over 41 years, he worked with Berks Products, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the National Association of Oil Heat Service Managers and served as the Past Local President.
Bob was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church, formerly known as Calvary United Methodist Church. He served as a Trustee at Calvary for many years. When his church closed, he began attending Park Road Presbyterian Church with his daughter's family. Community minded, Bob served as chairman of the local Ruffed Grouse Society, Charles E. Bechtel Chapter; he also served on the Wyomissing Recreation Board and the Western Berks Refuse Authority.
Bob was physically active throughout his life and was a member of the Reading Roadrunners Club. He even ran the Boston Marathon, twice! In his later years he enjoyed bowling and skeet shooting. A season ticket holder for the Reading Phillies for many years, Bob loved a day at the ballpark. He and Nancy traveled to many band competitions and cross country meets during their children's high school and college years. Later, they attended many soccer games and other events to support their grandchildren.
Left to treasure Bob's memory are his children, Susan N. (Glen) Phillips of Reading, and Jeffrey R. (Donna) Coleman of Wernersville, and grandchildren, Taylor L. Coleman (fiance of Ryan Smith), Joshua R. Coleman, and Samuel A. Phillips. In addition to his beloved wife, Nancy, and his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Kenneth.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter - Lancaster Office, 706 Rothsville Rd #8504, Lititz, PA 17543, or to the Ruffed Grouse Society, Charles E. Bechtel Chapter, 100 Hightower Blvd, Suite 101, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Park Road Presbyterian Church, 1045 N Park Rd, Wyomissing, PA 19610. The family will receive guests beginning at 1:30 PM at the church.
