Dennis L. Owens, 86, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away January 14, 2026, at the St Francis Home, Shillington, where he received compassionate and reverent care.
Born in West Wyomissing, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Katherine (Way) Owens.
He was a 1957 graduate of Wilson High School.
Dennis served our nation proudly in the US Army from 1958-1961.
He was employed by Worley Parsons (formerly Gilbert Associates) as a draftsman, retiring in 2006.
Dennis had a passion for golf and was an avid reader, appreciating a variety of genres in both literature and art. In earlier years he enjoyed skiing and working on automobiles. He also loved to travel, particularly to Europe, where he visited about a dozen times.
He is survived by ten nieces and nephews: Thomas Jablonski, Oakmont; Linda Lewis , wife of Jerome, Quakertown; James Jablonski, Exeter Township; Mary Haines, wife of Larry, Lower Heidelberg Township; Gary Jablonski, husband of Melissah, Sinking Spring: Gregory Jablonski, husband of Marie, West Lawn; Gary Owens, husband of Christine Spencer, Philadelphia; Christine Schera, wife of Jason, Spring Township; Michael Jablonski, husband of Gemma, Cumru Township; Todd Owens, husband of Nina, Ocean City, NJ.
Dennis was predeceased by four siblings: Ronald Owens, Eugene Owens, Norman Owens, and Patricia Jablonski.
A gathering of remembrance for family and friends will be Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 am. at Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of St George. Inurnment to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis Home, 144 Hillside Dr., Shillington, PA 19607. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
