He was the husband of Fern F. (Dunkelberger) Yeager. They were married 48 years.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph B. Yeager Sr. and Mabel (Folk) Yeager. He was a stepson of the late Mary (Robertson) Yeager.
He worked as a truck driver for 12 years at Overnight Transportation, retiring in 2000. He also worked for 27 and a half years for West Motor Freight.
Yeager was a 1954 graduate of Oley High School.
He was a cook in the Army Reserves.
Yeager was a member of the American Truck Historical Society.
He is also survived by three sons: Ricky A. Yeager, fiancé of Mae Martin, Amityville; Michael R., husband of Paula A. Yeager, Boyertown; and Charles B. Yeager, Temple.
Other survivors include two sisters, Doris, wife of Wellington Heister; and Elaine M. Yeager, all of South Carolina.
There are also three grandchildren: Dustin M., John J. and Karen E. Yeager.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Joseph Yeager Jr.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

I will always remember my first squirrel hunting trip was with Barney in his antique truck on Fancy Hill. And most recently, I appreciated the black walnuts he cracked and cleaned for me.
When it comes to quoits, "B" will always be for Barney.
