He was the husband of Karen L. (MacKinney) Adami. They were married on June 30, 1962 and celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles A. Sr. and Ottilie A. (Forst) Adami.
Rev. Adami was a 1954 graduate of Overbrook High School, Philadelphia, and a 1958 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Allentown,
receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. In 1962, he graduated from Philadelphia Lutheran
Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree.
Rev. Adami was a Lutheran Minister for over fifty years. He was the minister of a three-church charge for the Tannersville Parish: St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tannersville; St. John's Lutheran Church, Scotrun; and St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Appenzell, from 1962-1969.
Rev. Adami was also the minister of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Palmer Twp. (1969-1984); Grace Lutheran Church, East Stroudsburg (1984-1985); St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Nescopek (1985-1987); Frieden's Lutheran Church, Llewelyn and Zion Lutheran Church, Minersville (1987-1992); St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Shoemakersville (1992-1997), St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lobachsville (1997-2004); and last served as interim pastor for Frieden's Lutheran Church, Bernville (2004-2007).
Rev. Adami was a member of Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity and served on the Board of Directors for Lutheran Student Movement at Kutztown University. He enjoyed gardening and had a real "green thumb." He also enjoyed stamp collecting.
Rev. Adami was an associate member of St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, Lobachsville; Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Twp., and Becker's St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. He led the Bible study at Zion Moselem Lutheran Church and was on the
renovation committee for the Tannenberg organ at the church.
In addition to his wife, Rev. Adami is survived by one son, Charles G. Adami, husband of Suzanne Kozischek, Easton; one daughter, Charis E. (Adami), wife of Kevin Egan, Tinton Falls, New Jersey; eight grandchildren: Stephen, Matthew, Andrew, Benjamin, Philip, Keith, Shannon, and Sayf al-Rahman; and three great-grandchildren: Mattison, Masen, and Victor. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kristine L. Adami, died January 1966.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. from Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown. The family will receive
relatives and friends following the service.
