He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Catherine Zimmerman.
He was a loving, caring father and friend who served our country proudly as a member of the Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict.
He was of the Southern Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lutz. His devotion to his faith and his church was the basic foundation of his daily life.
He worked for and retired from the Dana Corp. after 40 years of dedicated employment as a tool and dye maker.
He is survived by his son, David Zimmerman, and wife, Rita; and two sisters, June Shamel and her husband, the Rev. Richard Shamel; and Jane Bach.
And special in his life was his longtime good friend, Macile Land; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa, Fla. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the cemetery. Garden of Memories Funeral Home, Tampa, is in charge of arrangements. Words of comfort may be expressed at gardenofmemoriestampa.com.

Dear David and Family
Sorry to hear your father passed away. Charles was a member of Trinity EC Church in Reading Pa. He was a wonderful person and a caring man. We were members also and remember Charles and his family.

David, Rita and Macile,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. Charles was my favorite uncle and I have many fond memories of him as a child and teenager. I am so sorry that we can't be there with you.
