Born in Reading on July 14, 1971, he was a son of Michael P. and Sandra (Slater) Mulligan, Mohrsville.
He was raised in Reading and Mohrsville and was a 1989 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School.
He was employed for more than 14 years by Olive Garden Restaurant, both in Reading and later in Colonie, N.Y., where he was the culinary manager. He traveled throughout the Northeast training new staff and setting up Olive Garden Restaurants. In January 2007, he traveled to Italy and graduated from Sede Del Culinary Institute of Tuscany.
He enjoyed tropical fish and setting up aquariums, cycling and electronics.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted wife, Annette S. (Weaver) Mulligan, Maplewood; two wonderful children, Jordan M. Mulligan and Mallory M. Mulligan; and his sister, Kelly M. Mulligan, Los Angeles.
He was the maternal grandson of LeRoy Slater Jr., Reading; and the late Tomiko Shigyo Burr; paternal grandson of Ruth Knoll, Reading; and great-grandson of the late Evelyn U. Slater, 99, who died in May.

To Chris's family;
Our deepest sympathy to you all as you are facing this painful, sad time. We wish we could help ease this pain, but we have happy memories to get us through this. Hold on to all your happy times, for that is what will help you through. Annette, we remember all the times you and Chris came into the restaurant as you were dating, and then getting married, and starting your family. We were sad when you moved away, but were so happy when you would stop in for Chris' favorite Italian sandwiches when you came back home! We are sorry we missed him the last time he was home. We will remember his smile and laughter always. Hold each other tight for the strength you need. You are in our thoughts and prayers!

Dear Michael,Sandra and Kelly,
I am so sorry for the loss of Chris. I can visualize his smile and shyness when he would come to pick up Kelly at our house.
How the years have passed and our babies are young men and women.
There are no words one can use to truly express the sadness that a parent and family must bear at this moment in time.
Our prayers and good thoughts of Chris are with you .
Love Miss Candy,Laura and Philip

My deepest, deepest sympathies to the Mulligan Family. Jordan and Mallory, your father is in a better place where there is no suffering, only peace and smiles. He will now be your Guardian Angel, shining down on you from Heaven.
I know that right now, there are no words to console you, I know this from experience, but in time, and it may be a long time, it won't hurt as bad. To Annette - I am so very sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like to lose the other half of your heart. It is a terrible time, but you will be strong and you will make it through for yourself, and for your beautiful children.
I will remember Chris as always having a great attitude towards life. He would be standing in the kitchen at work with his arms crossed over his chest, no particular expression on his face, just supervising all the activity. But it didn't take much to make him smile, uncross his arms and laugh. A funny face, or a stupid joke, it didn't matter, Chris would laugh at it.
Out of all the jobs I've ever been employed by, Chris was one of my favorite managers. He was really just a great guy, and made sure you were taken care of.
And he was so damn proud of his Impala. Loud and Clear!! I would always poke fun at him.
You will never forget your father and husband, I know, but in this time of sadness, try to think of all the good times to bring a smile to your face.
God Bless you, and I will keep you in my prayers.
