Clair Harting Obituary


Clair E. Harting, 79, of Sinking Spring, passed away May 30, 2016 in his residence. He was the widower of Ruth H. (O'Brien) Harting, who passed away March 9, 2010. Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Alvin D. and

Florence K. (Sensenig).

Clair was a 1954 graduate of Sinking Spring High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran stationed at Norfolk, Va.

He was employed by Alvin D. Harting Tinsmith in Sinking Spring and The Borough of Sinking Spring Public Works.

Mr. Harting was a member of St. John's Reformed Church and was an elected board member of Sinking Spring Borough Council; Lifetime member of Liberty Fire Company, Sinking Spring, where he served as Fire Chief; and a member of Fellowship (Gremlins) Misters –Stine, Alsegg, Hull and Good.

Survivors include daughter, Pamela M. Trimbur, wife of Mark, Pottstown; brothers, Alvin R. Harting, Millerstown, Pa., Kenneth S. Harting, Wernersville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Harting's memory to American Red Cross, 701 Centre

Avenue, Reading, PA 19601.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
