They were married March 5, 2004, but got to spend 35 beautiful years with each other altogether.
Born May 26th, 1949, Connie was the daughter of Abigail M. Canfora and the late Joseph Canfora.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her brother,
Joseph A. Canfora, and his wife, Donna, of Reading.
She was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to get her teaching degree at Kutztown State College and pursued further education at Penn State University.
Besides teaching at 16th and Haak and Southern Middle School, Connie went on to be very active in the REA, PSEA and NEA, still holding the position of treasurer for the PSEAR at the time of her death.
She was also a lifetime member in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Victor Emmanuel Beneficial Society.
Everyone knew her as a kind and helpful person, and the family has appreciated the outpouring of kind words on
social media. Terms such as mentor and friend were
repeated numerous times.
Although she did not want a service, a celebration of her life will be held at Victor Emmanuel, 311 Hazel St., Reading, PA 19611, Friday, July 15th from 12 to 3 p.m. Family, friends and teachers are welcome.
It was also her wish that any donations be made in her name to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.

I was in school with Connie from Kindergarten through 12th. Her loveliness and grace was evident, even as a child. May God carry you in his loving arms, Connie and may you have eternal peace.

Connie and I went through public school together and ran into each other over the course of these many years. Even during my earliest memories, she was so kind, considerate and helpful, supportive and consistently active in a wide variety of activities. I'm glad she surrounded by beauty and her husband at the last. May she rest in peace, and rise in glory! My true sympathies to her husband and loved ones.
