David Causa Obituary

David M. Causa D.D.S., 66, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022, in his Wyomissing residence. He was the loving husband and best friend of Patricia (Sawyer) Causa. They were married on July 28, 1978 and began dating when they were 16 years old. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Jack and Claire (Sullivan) Causa. David was a graduate of Holy Name High School, Mt. St. Mary’s College, and Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He was the owner of David M. Causa D.D.S. Center For Comprehensive Dentistry for 42 years. David loved to create beautiful smiles for his family of patients. Spending quality time with his wife, children, granddaughter, extended family and friends was most important to him. He enjoyed traveling, especially to St. John, Virgin Islands and Stone Harbor. David cherished his time hunting especially with those that enjoyed the adventure with him. Weightlifting, fishing, and playing the guitar were other favorite pastimes. Athletics played a big part in his life. He was very proud of his playing career as a Holy Name Blue Jay and his contributions to the Wyomissing Spartan Football Family as a coach for 18 seasons. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: David M. Causa II; Kylie (Matthew) Alfonse; and Justin Thomas Causa; siblings: Jack J. (Regina) Causa; Cheryl A. (David) Migliore; and Dianne M. (Stephen) Weber; and granddaughter, Lillian Claire Alfonse. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 2, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Shillington. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to IM Able Foundation or Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I am so heartbroken to hear about Daves passing, not only was he my dentist for over 30 years and the very best at that but he was also a friend. I would go 3 times a year just for an extra cleaning and he would always make time to come in and chat with me no matter how busy he was. I met Dave at the old Colonial Hills up on 222 at the gyms so we would always pick each others brains about new workout programs as we got older. We texted back and forth in the last few months and new he was in a battle. We talked about Jesus so I know I will see him again. I will miss you always my friend, my prayers are with the family at this time for comfort. I can assure you the world was a better place with him in it.

Dave was a good buddy of mine. I've gone as a patient since he was in Blandon in 1980. I liked to joke around with him and he with me. He always reminded me of the time I went there on April Fool's Day and played a joke on him. I feel blessed and honored to have known him. He will be sorely missed by me and my family.

Dear Dr. Caussa,
I was lucky enough to meet you about 3 years ago when I needed major work done on my teeth. I was full of anxiety and embarrassed but you made me feel right at home. From the moment I met you, I knew I was in good hands. The work you did was incredible and you made sure everything was perfect. I know I thanked you many of times and you saw me smile when I saw the end results, But man words can´t describe what you did for me! I´ll miss coming to see you for my check ups. You were always so proud of your family and talked about them every visit. The last time I saw you, was in December and I was your last patient for the day. You were so excited to get out of there and see Sing 2 with your Granddaughter. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of your family and friends.

Heartfelt and sincerest condolences from the Kroppe family. There are no words. We are heartbroken. Dave was instrumental in leading and guiding so many Wyo boys, including William #62, to become the incredible men they are today. Dave gave countless hours to cultivating traditions/memories that are in our hearts forever. And did I mention the HOURS Dave invested into these young men!! Spartan family forever ! Thank you, Dave and Patti, for all you gave to so many. We love you and miss you very much.
