Douglassville, Pa., died on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Keystone Villa at Douglassville, where she has resided since February.
Born November 3, 1923, in Spring City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Myron Hartman Place and the late Mary Ellen (Clemmer) Place. Doris was the widow of Paul R. Weller, who died February 9, 1970.
She was retired from Merritt's Antique's, Amity Twp., Berks Co., Pa., and was a 1942 graduate of Spring City High School.
Surviving are son, Paul R. "Skip" Weller II, and his wife, Kathy, of Douglassville, Pa.; daughter, Shelley L., wife of Clifford Mohr, of Douglassville, Pa.; sister, Janis Marion Dunning, of Boyertown, Pa.; 4 grandchildren: Scott, Jenna, Shayna and Corey; 3 great-grandchildren: Frankie, Juliana and Carson.
She was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Marion Harp and Iris Odell Place.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., located at 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amityville, Pa. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Berks VNA Hospice, 1170 Berkshire Blvd.,Wyomissing, PA 19610, or Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Dr., Fort Washington, PA 19034.
