Dorothy Hepner Obituary


Dorothy V. Hepner, 97, formerly of Shoemakersville died July 5, 2015, in Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg.

She was the widow of Carl G. Hepner, who died April 18, 1994. Dorothy was born in Port Clinton and was the daughter of the late Harold and Caroline (Marks) Degler.

She worked for many years as a floor lady for Hamburg Knitting Mills, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of St. John's Church, Port Clinton.

Two daughters survive Dorothy, Nancy E., wife of Joseph Preston, Walnutport; Carolyn, widow of Edward Hartman, Bernville; and three sons: Robert H., widower of Judith A. Correll, Sinking Spring; Charles W., husband of Eileen Correll, Stallings, NC; and Barry L., husband of Lori Correll, Kempton. One brother, Arnold, husband of Mary Ellen Degler; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren survive her.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township.

The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
