Edgar Ruth Obituary

Edgar Lee Ruth, 85 of Sinking Spring, passed away Saturday April 30, 2022, in the care of the Reading Hospital ICU. Edgar was born June 4, 1936, to Abner L. Ruth and Elsie L. (Marks) Ruth and was married to Carol Laura (Trexler) Ruth for 63 years, has 2 daughters, Megen L. Hancik and Marta L. Lamm and is predeceased by a son, Merrill L. Ruth. He is also survived by 2 grandsons and their wives, 1 great granddaughter, and 3 great grandsons. Loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather to not only his family but to many “extended” family. Ed, Big Ed, Poppy, Dad, Uncle Eddie are just a few of his titles and he will be missed by all his family and friends. Ed was a hard worker for most of his life at Hoffman Industries in Sinking Spring. He also was the caretaker at what was once known as Willow Acres, now Heron Mead Farm and loved cutting grass and took great pride in keeping the property looking it’s best. Ed was an avid golfer in his earlier years and loved to play cards and joke around with all his family and friends. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, play a round of golf, a game cards with your loved ones, or please feel free to donate to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County in Ed’s name.
