Born on January 28, 1926 in Kulptown, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel W.
Davidheiser and the late Elizabeth (Keinard) Davidheiser Hohl. He was the widower of Nita I. (Mills) Davidheiser.
Edward worked as an equipment operator for the John T. Dyer Quarry in Robeson & Union Twp. and served in the U.S. Army in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Geigertown, Pa. He was also a member of the VFW Post 411, Birdsboro Sportsmen's Club, Kulptown-Union Fire Co., and Long Run Hunting Camp in Tioga County.
Surviving are 1 son, Ronald P. Davidheiser, husband of Vicki L. of Boyertown, Pa.; 1 daughter, Sharon A. Walters, wife of Frederick of Douglassville, Pa.; 2 grandchildren, Jefferey Davidheiser and Eric Walters; and 2 great-granddaughters, Carissa Davidheiser-Jones and Gabriela Davidheiser. Also surviving Edward are 2 brothers, Lester Davidheiser of Seyfert, Pa.; Charles "Skip" Davidheiser of Kulptown, Pa.; and 3 sisters: Mary Gormley of Exeter Twp.; Ruth S. Bitting of Kulptown, Pa.; and Anna E. Mervine of Spring Twp.
Edward was predeceased by 5 brothers: Harry, Clarence, David, Samuel, and Raymond Davidheiser; and 1 sister,
Lillie M. Rock.
A Funeral service will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, Pa., at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017. A viewing will be held at the
funeral home from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. before the service.
Interment will be in St. James Church Cemetery in
Geigertown, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 5,
Geigertown, PA 19523.
