Fern Carter Obituary

Fern L. (Hadley) Carter, 88, Exeter Township, formerly of Baumstown, died of natural causes Dec. 25, 2008, in her residence.

She was the wife of G. Lewis Carter Sr.

Born in Birdsboro, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Lott) Hadley.

She had worked in the laboratory at Birdsboro Corp. during World War II.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Birdsboro.

She was a member of Birdsboro Senior Center.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, George L. Carter Jr., husband of Diane M. (Bossler), Exeter Township; and a daughter, Sharon, wife of Robert Sites, Leesport.

Other survivors include a sister, Mary Jane, widow of Russell Doaty, Exeter Township.

There are also three grandchildren: Angela M., wife of Donald Haas, Fleetwood; Alecia A., wife of Seth Lorah, Mohnton; and Curtis J., husband of Heidi Sites, Brecknock Township; and two great-grandchildren, Kira and Connor.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Dengler Funeral Home Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro. Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery, Union Township. Viewing will be Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 300 W. First St., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
