He was the husband of Florence M. (Krill) Clemens. They were married on Oct. 16, 1965, more than 41 years ago.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Robert F. and Esther (Stoudt) Devine.
He worked as a supervisor for Rockwell International, Wyomissing, retiring in 1996. He also was a self-employed antiques dealer, working from Adamstown, since the 1980s.
He was a 1955 graduate of Hamburg High School.
He was a member of the Air Force Reserves.
He also was a member of the Berks County Antique Dealers Association.
He had been a manager of the Babe Ruth baseball team in Shartlesville, the Shartlesville Fire Company fast-pitch softball team and the Bernville softball team.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly he enjoyed watching his grandson, Alex, play for the Hamburg Legion baseball team and his granddaughter, Taylor, play for the Hamburg field hockey team.
He also is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. (Clemens), wife of Michael L. Rhoads Jr., Shoemakersville; and Connie A. Clemens, Perry Township.
Other survivors include four brothers: Rolland E. Shade, Sequim, Wash.; Richard L. Shade, Oley; Robert F. Devine Jr., Grantville; and Daniel J. Devine, Mohrsville.
There also are two grandchildren, Alex and Taylor Rhoads.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg. Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman’s) Cemetery, Centre Township. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
