Harry Reichert Obituary

Harry G. Reichert, Jr., 72, of Temple passed away Friday morning in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Harry was married on May 29, 1976, celebrating forty-six years of marriage, to his loving wife Terry (Morganti) Reichert. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Harry G. Reichert, Sr. and Gertrude M. (Gambler) Reichert. Harry was a 1967 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. Following high school Harry was employed for Bender Electric Co. He then served in the U. S. Navy from July 1968 until January 1972. Harry was employed by the Reading Company as a clerk then for Conrail as a Yard Master. He completed his career with Norfolk Southern as a Terminal Train Master retiring July 2010 following a career of thirty-eight years and six months of service in the railroad industry. While employed for Conrail Harry received the “Walk The Talk Safety Award” during the 1998 third quarter for his leadership in safety by example. While employed by Norfolk Southern in Harrisburg in 2006 Harry received the “Walk The Talk Outstanding Safety Efforts Award” and in 2009, in the first quarter an award for “O Rule Violation Derailment and Injury Free Award” Harry founded the softball team, “Reading Steamers”, he umpired for amateur softball games and enjoyed vacationing with his family in Wildwood, NJ and Knoebels Grove. Harry and Terry recently attended Spring Valley Church of God. Additional survivors include, two sons, Patrick S. Reichert and Aaron G. Reichert both of Temple. There is a brother, Gary Reichert of Iola, Wisconsin and an Aunt Betty Leader of Harrisburg. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7th at Noon in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Pastor John Schantz officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday morning from 10:30 am until Noon in the funeral home. I nterment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Miller-Keystone Blood Center, 1047 Old Bernville Rd., Reading, PA 19605 Online condolences made at www.milkinstrymbiskifuneralhome.com
