Helen Billman Obituary

Helen R. Billman, 89, formerly of Richland, died March 8, 2009, in the ECC Retirement Village, Albright Campus, Myerstown.

Her husband, Lester H. Billman, died in 1998.

Born in Jackson Township, she was a daughter of the late Hubert S. and Mary (Hain) Miller.

She was a 1937 graduate of Robesonia High School.

She was a member of Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg; the Blue Mountain 50-Plus Club, the Marion Township Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Club at the ECC Retirement Village.

She was a life member of the Bethel and Mount Aetna fire companies.

She was primarily a homemaker but had been employed at the former Publix Shirt Factory, Myerstown, and the former Berkshire Knitting Mill, Wyomissing.

Surviving are a son, Bruce B. Billman, Reading; and two daughters, Edna M., wife of Robert G. Kneasel Jr., Myerstown, and Brenda B. Reich, wife of Neil Phillips, Mohrsville.

Other survivors include a sister, Verna Kegerreis, Richland.

There are also six grandchildren: Robert G. Kneasel III, Charles L. Kneasel, Christie Billman, Esq.; Trisha Billman, Shaun Reich and Eric Reich; four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by a son, Lester C. Billman; two brothers, Howard and Roy Miller; and two sisters, Florence Weaver and Margaret Risser.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg. Burial will be in Altalaha Church Cemetery, Rehrersburg. Friends may call Wednesday 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Altalaha Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 82, Rehrersburg, PA 19550.
