She was predeceased by two husbands, Edmund Stanley Rochowicz and Richard Reber Sharman.
Born Aug. 24, 1916, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Valentine and Mildred (Zielaskowski) Szwaczkowski.
She attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Reading.
Helen was employed 22 years as a tester in the clean room with Western Electric Co., Muhlenberg Township.
She was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Helen was the most wonderful, loving person a family could ever wish for. Kindness and understanding were her greatest virtues. She was the tower of strength that held her large family together. She will be sadly and greatly missed by all of us. Our family's loss can never be measured.
She is survived by three children: Helen J. (Rockowicz) Quade, Temple; Janet L. (Rockowicz), wife of Gary L. Spatz, Bern Township; and John J. Rockowicz, husband of Diane L. (Mancuso), Sinking Spring.
Other survivors include three stepchildren: Rick Sharman, husband of Nadine; Kathy (Sharman) Knauer; and Sandra (Sharman) Marks.
There are also 11 grandchildren: Linda (Bauer), wife of George Phile; Diane (Quade) Donahue; George Bauer, husband of Brenda; Nancy Quade Cox, wife of Ronald Cox; Nicholas Bauer, husband of Debbie; Pamela (Bauer), wife of Lloyd Showalter; Cheryl (Spatz) Mellinger; Steve Bauer, husband of Mary Ann; Tina (Spatz) Goshert; Brad Rockowicz, husband of Ann; and Jeff Rockowicz.; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons.
She was also predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine A. (Rockowicz) Bauer, who died June 9, 1993; a sister, Jeanette A. (Szwaczkowski) Strauser; a brother, Joseph J. Szwaczkowski; and two small children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
