Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Jack and Gladys (Deutsch) Wieder.
He worked as a supervisor for the clerk of courts in Bronx, N.Y., for 20 years. Howard was then employed as a clerk of courts in Reading for six years.
He was a member of Shomrei Habrith Synagogue.
Howard was also a former president of the Congregation Shomrei Habrith Synagogue.
Surviving are his long-time companion with whom he resided, Ethel Engel; two daughters, Barbara (Wieder) Speiser, Michigan; and Robin Wieder, Long Island, N.Y.; and a son, Neal Wieder, Florida.
Other survivors include a sister, Audrey (Wieder) Shustek, Florida.
There are also four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held today at 3 p.m. in Shomrei Habrith Cemetery, Cumru Township, with Rabbi Yosef Y. Lipsker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish Family Service, 1700 City Line St., Reading, PA 19604, or Shomrei Habrith Synagogue, 2320 Hampden Blvd., P.O. Box 13395, Reading, PA 19612-3395, in memory of Mr. Howard Wieder.
