Irene Davis Obituary

Irene R. Davis, 94 of Ephrata, went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday September 30, 2023 at 4:55 PM in Keystone Villa. Born in Spring Township, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Luella (Kalbach) Heckman. Her father, Harry Meyers passed away when she was very young. Irene was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills, 13th & Green School/Cafeteria and also served 14 years alongside her husband as a Sexton for Alsace Lutheran Church with whom she was a member of. Irene was a loving, kind and friendly person to everyone she met. She enjoyed raising her children, going to the mall with her husband to meet with their friends for chatting and a walk around the mall daily. In later years, moving to Keystone Villa in Ephrata until her passing, she was a fashionista, and enjoyed all of her friends there, playing bingo, going for country rides and having pizza in their pub on occasion. Irene is survived by her 4 children, Larry N. Davis, loving companion of Nadine Riegel, Shillington, Diane L. Hughes, loving companion of William Levy, Texas, Ricky A. Davis, spouse of Laura Davis, Centerport and Debra A. Hoover, loving companion of Dennis P. Garl. Sr, Temple. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Mark, Angela, Jesse, Steve Jr., Tracy, Kerry, Zachery, Jeffrey, Kevin, Jeremy, Nathan and Daniel along with 17 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Norman H. Davis who passed January 25, 2015 along with her loving son Steve N. Davis Sr., who passed October 1, 2016. Also, 1 sister, Louise Strausser who passed August 6, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland St., Reading, Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Jeremy Davis, grandson, will be officiating. Internment will follow in Alsace Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday October 5, 2023 from 11:00-1:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Irene R. Davis.
