She was the wife of Robert L. Wetzel, who died November 20, 2011. Born in Oley on April 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Mary (Ruth) Hoffert.
The perfect mom, she loved "adopting" grandchildren and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading inspirational Amish novels, listening to country music, feeding the birds and squirrels, cross-stitch, puzzles, cooking; and watching country music shows, the Hallmark Channel, "Little House on the Prairie," and "The Waltons."
She is survived by daughters: Cindy, wife of Chester Michael Jr., of Fredericksburg; Julie, wife of Ray Hepner, of Hamburg; sons: Robert Jr., husband of Gini Wetzel, of Womelsdorf; Curt, husband of Bev Wetzel, of Wrightsville; 6 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Edna, wife of Lester Remp, of Shoemakersville; Leonore Kull of Tenn.; Esther Norton of Bernville; Janet, wife of Charles Zechman, of Womelsdorf; Mary Dietrich, of West Lawn; brothers: Wayne, husband of Arlene Hoffert, of Bernville; Llewellyn, husband of Lucy Hoffert, of Bernville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd and Alton Hoffert; and sisters: Fern Hoffert, Pauline Weidner, and Tamsey Hummer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. www.grosefuneralhome.com.
