Janet Schera

Janet B. (Unger) Schera, 87, of Reading passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Rittenhouse, Reading. She was the wife of the late Jack Lee Schera who passed away Feb. 21, 2020. Janet, a daughter of the late Joshua and Amelia (Wenrich) Unger, was born in Wernersville. She is survived by two children, Jannell L. Schera, Lower Alsace, and Jason L. Schera, husband of Christine, West Lawn; and two grandchildren, Jakob A. Ream and Gavin L. Ream. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Unger, and Ray Stoudt; and a sister, Gladys Huggins. She was a member of the Oakbrook Fire Company and the 18th Ward Democratic Club. She retired in 1999 from the Elverson National Bank, having previously worked for City Bank and Trust, Reading, and Bank of Pennsylvania. Services will be held at 6:30 PM, Thursday, Jan. 13th, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30-6:30 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
