Ron, Carryll, Alycia, Lyndsey, Kennedy, Bruce, Adam, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, Friends, and Loving loyal friend Stanley:
I have had a great deal of loss in my life. I believe all the loss in my life was to prepare me for the pain of watching this family live through this tragic, sudden loss of Jarrod. All of our hearts ache for each one of you.
Our children, who were Jarrod’s cousins are missing him very much and really don’t fully understand this, “none of us do, we told them.” They will no longer have his guidance, calm presence, witty sense of humor, kindness and another view on things. They just want to draw him another picture. They Loved him so much, as we all do. They now have an Angel named Turtle.
Ron and Carryll set the example of what parents should be Loving, caring, involved, open minded, always taught their kids, had fun with them, put them first, did things with them, Loved them, directed them and always have their back. If I learned nothing else from this loss, I will try to be a little more like Ron and Carryll with my own children.
Alycia and Lyndsey are the best sisters a brother could ever have. Jarrod’s Love for the two of you was not shown once in a while, it was there everyday. Not many nineteen year old boys actually spend time with Dad, Mom, and Sisters, he wanted to. You could see the Love he had for all of you. I’m so glad he got to meet Kennedy and was a great uncle without any effort.
I will always remember Jarrod making me eggs from his Scooby Doo cook book when I was pregnant with Bastion. Jarrod was always thoughtful. I will also, always remember his Love of cheese. We will think of Jarrod every time we listen to music because, we had the same taste in tunes.
Love Always, Aunt Staci

Praying For You..
May 21, 2010
May God Bless Your Family. I will pray for you, This helped my family after a loss..
"In the bottom of an old pond lived some grubs who could not understand why none of their group ever came back after crawling up the lily stems to the top of the water. They promised each other that the next one who was called to make the upward climb would return and tell what had happened to him. Soon one of them felt an urgent impulse to seek the surface; he rested himself on the top of a lily pad and went through a glorious transformation which made him a dragonfly with beautiful wings. In vain he tried to keep his promise. Flying back and forth over the pond, he peered down at his friends below. Then he realized that even if they could see him they would not recognize such a radiant creature as one of their number.
The fact that we cannot see our friends or communicate with them after the transformation which we call death is no proof that they cease to exist."

I had the pleasure of having Jarrod and Lindsay in my English classes, and I must say, both left an indelible mark on my heart. We teachers get attached to many of our students as we laugh with them (and sometimes AT their zany antics), and as such, Jarrod's passing has hit us pretty hard. What I will remember most is his gentle manner and warm smile. My heart goes out to his family and friends who are grieving. May you all find peace through this difficult time. All my best, Mrs. Richmond

New Year’s Eve 2007
It was early in the evening…6 o’clock, heck, maybe even 5 o’clock. After all, how many 16 year-old boys want to spend even a portion of their evening with one of their mothers on the biggest night of the year? Still, they indulged me…the three of them: Turtle, Booty, and my son, Alex. I made them a nice meal. Seafood, of course, the harvest of their labors. We had scallops served over spaghetti with a special clam sauce over all. It was delicious. They had seconds. Maybe even thirds. It wasn’t long , though, before they were off into the night with their friends to bring in the new year.
I never dreamed, of course, that a few short years later, one of them would be missing from the picture. Who dreams of such things? But so it is. Turtle…I will miss you and that easy way you had of walking. But I will treasure that evening of good food and wacky conversation and tales of the fish market and the early evening light that will shine forever in my heart.

"I'll lend you for a while a child of mine,"
He said.
"For you to love the while he lives and mourn for
when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or
three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of
him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should
his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for
your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay; since all from
earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I
want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in My search
for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes
I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love, not think
the labor vain, Nor hate Me when I come to call to take him back again?"
I fancied that I that I heard them say, "Dear Lord,
Thy will be done!
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the
risk of grief we run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll
love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever
grateful stay;
But should the angels call for him much sooner
than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and
try to understand."
