Jeffrey Lloyd Obituary

Jeffrey Gerard Lloyd, 60, passed away unexpectedly on January 14th, 2024. Born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Reading, PA, he was the son of Michele (Malpede) Clemente and the late John W Lloyd, and was reared by his loving father John Clemente. Jeff was a proud graduate of Wyomissing Area HS. After high school Jeff earned his Associate's Degree from Wesley College before attending the University of Maryland to earn his Bachelor's Degree. During his time at Maryland, he found a cherished sense of brotherhood as a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, a bond that remained dear to him throughout his life. Post-graduation, Jeff embarked on an adventurous journey with a few fraternity brothers, traversing the U.S. and eventually settling in San Diego. There, they ingeniously sold pictures to tourists, capturing moments with a cardboard cutout of Ronald Reagan. Upon returning to the East Coast, Jeff pursued a fulfilling career path that saw him spend over 25 years in various positions in the mortgage industry, from Loan Officer to Vice President. Outside of his professional endeavors, Jeff cultivated enduring connections with friends from every chapter of his life. His unwavering loyalty to these friendships was a distinctive and cherished trait. Jeff played football and basketball at Wyomissing and remained a lifetime sports fan, he always held a passion for the Wyomissing Spartans, Maryland Terrapins, Philadelphia 76ers, and Dallas Cowboys. He loved sharing stories about his sports heroes, in particular always expressing a depth of admiration for Len Bias and Julius Erving (Dr. J), who he was privileged enough to meet on two occasions. Jeff was a longtime fan of auto racing, and especially loved watching stock cars and cheering on Kyle Larson. Those who knew Jeff were well aware of his love for muscle cars off the track as well, and he could be seen cruising around in a Supra, 300ZX, or his current Camaro SS. While these passions filled parts of his life, Jeff's true joy was found in the company of his family. Nothing meant more to him than the cherished moments spent with his adored son, Nicholas. Jeff celebrated being active in Nick's life, always taking the opportunity to participate in his pursuits. He valued the years spent coaching Nick and his friends through various stages of the sports they loved. Jeff derived great pleasure taking Nick to the Shore, continuing the tradition of annual summer trips to the beach - an experience rooted in Jeff's own childhood memories with his family. Jeffrey will be eternally cherished by his parents, Michele and John Clemente, Son, Nicholas Lloyd, Siblings and their families, John Lloyd (Beth) children Veronica and Spencer, Richelle Clemente, children Zachary and Anthony Jeffrey, Anthony Clemente (Katie), children John, Mia, and Alexander, Steffanie Lloyd-Abbattiscianni (Frank), children Alyssa and Anthony, Cousin Zachary DeCarlo [Mary]. He was predeceased by cousin, Michael DeCarlo. An immeasurable sadness blankets our broken hearts, and an unfathomable sorrow engulfs us. The depth of our grief is immeasurable, casting us into a world forever changed without the presence of Jeffrey. His tragic loss finds us clinging to cherished memories while being relentlessly tormented with the pain of an irreplaceable void left in our lives. Viewings will be held Sunday Jan 21st from 5pm-8pm and Monday 8:30am–9:30am at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading, PA. Jeffrey Lloyd where do I begin? I will always remember you as a big brother. You and Steve H. always let me tag along. Your brother John was always nice to me also. When I found out you passed away I was in shock then very angry. It seems lately the good ones are no longer with us and you were one of the best. God bless your soul. I actually learned a lot from you. You always took the time to help me or explain things.Thank you always for being my friend. I'm going to mis you Jeff. Go Duke and Maryland this year baby.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jeff´s passing. We dated while at University of Maryland. He was truly one of the funniest and nicest people I ever met. We reconnected on facebook and it was so nice to see that he really hadn´t changed at all from the Jeff I knew way back then. My deepest sympathies to his friends and family-this is a terrible hard loss.

Having a friend like Jeff was a highlight for me or anyone growing up in West Reading to have the honor of his friendship. We spent summers together riding bikes in WR and Wyomissing doen the Old Wyomissing Road and fun times at West Reading pool. I lived just down the block on Tulpehocken Avenue, so Jeff was always nearby for a ride in his dark green 1969 Grand Prix or the many rides in my 1970 GTO down Justa Road listening to Kansas. I remember our trip with John to Wildwood staying at Debbie Sherry's folks place. Jeff was always fun and in great spirits, never a dull moment.

My mom loved having him over for dinner too, one of the few friends she approved of, always a welcome guest. I am so sad to hear about his passing. I was made aware just this evening. My prayers to your family. John I know this must be terribly heartbreaking for you. I am thinking about both of you. I asked our Parish Priest to include Jeff in the blessing at St. Barnabas' next Mass here in Long Beach , CA.

My sister Robin and I are praying for Jeff and his loved ones as you struggle with this immense loss.

My brother. We've been best friends since we were 10. We rode bikes together through the Mu at night. We jumped the fence at night for moonlight swims with Meef Long and a host of others. Once we could drive you got the GTO and you did burnouts while we jammed to Boston. As we became of age we were attached at the hip. We took a trip to Florida and stayed in Rick Mears house for Baywood and Kelly's wedding. We took trips to the beach with our kids. We watched videos of Dr. J in your basement and went crazy. We , along with John and my brothers Scott and Beef went to Nascar races and that's but a fraction of the great times we had. I don't know how I'm going live the rest of my life on this earth knowing you're not there. I'll be leaning on the lord for guidance forever to help me cope with the loss of one of the best, smartest and most talented people I've ever known. I will miss you and honor your memory for the rest of my life. I love you Jeffrey . You're the best friend anyone could ever have and a true blessing. Thank you my brother. WRBOYZ4LIFE.
Till I see you again.
