formerly of Ephrata (Lincoln), passed away peacefully in Reading Hospital on
Wednesday, April 25th surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Joan Ann
(Dickinson) Hackman, with whom he would have shared 56 years of marriage on June 30th.
Born in Ephrata (Lincoln) he was the son of the late
Samuel M. and Margaret E. (Peiffer) Hackman.
Jerry was employed at Carpenter Technology for 18 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring.
Survived by his wife, Joan Ann; son, John L. Hackman, Wernersville; and daughter, Judy Isenberg, wife of
Shannon, Martindale, Texas; and 2 grandchildren, Miranda and Morgan.
Jerry, the youngest of 11 children, is survived by a
brother, Elwood Hackman, Ephrata; and sister, Rhoda Hiester, Robesonia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Samuel, Franklin, Harold, Carl and J. Ronald; and three sisters: Genevieve, Mary Jane and Nancy.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 30th, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave.,
Wernersville. A viewing will be held 2-4:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CHEST Foundation, 2595 Patriot Boulevard, Glenview, IL 60026 or to St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA 19608.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Jerry was such a good man. I didn't know him very long but can say I will have fond memories of his humor and willingness to help a bunch of women putting the church newsletter together. He will be sadly missed. May the Lord bless you Joan Ann in the days ahead.
