Joann Kite Obituary
Joann Kite, age 63, of Reading, passed away Friday in Manor Care, West Reading. She was the companion of James Kite. Born in Mohnton, she was the daughter of the late John and Jean Matz.
Joan worked several years as a cashier for CVS. She most recently developed and was known for starting Creature Quotes by JoAnn Kite and had many visitors to Facebook, since the start of the site.
Other surviving family members include a son, David, of Reading; sister, Lynn Mlynar of Exeter Township; three granddaughters.
Joann's wishes were to have her services handled privately. Stanton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Honey Brook.

I feel blessed to have crossed paths with Joann, even if only on FB where we shared our love of Eagles and Nature. Her posts were always so uplifting, and her photos spectacular. Jim, JoAnn was a shining light in the lives of many people. I am one of the many Facebook friends she never met. If someone had told any of us 10 years ago that we would make and lose friends on the computer, and that these friendships and losses would affect us in a way similar to those events in RL (or real life), we would have laughed! JoAnn is a prime example of this. Her daily posts of love and hope, highlighting the wonders of Nature, gave joy to so many of us! Dear JoAnn, If only you could read all that is being said about you and the way you have touched all of us, it would fill you with such love and warmth. I now know that you were taken from us because you have fulfilled the purpose that the Lord put you on this Earth to do. I will ever cherish the friendship I had with JoAnn. Like many others,we met because of our love for the Decorah Eagle family and our friendship just evolved from there. I so enjoyed exchanging eagle and animal photos with her and wishing her a happy day and she did the same thing back to me. She was just the true essence of pure love for all of God's creations and made each of us feel so 'special,' even while she was going through so many of her own battles,with her cancer. Dearest Jim: No words can express the sadness and emptiness that I feel from JoAnn's passing. JoAnn was one of the kindest, most genuine and giving people I have ever known. I've never met her personally, but you didn't have to in order to feel her love, compassion, and tenderness.
