February 14, 2018, at 10:13 p.m. in Berkshire Commons. He was the husband of the late Joyce A. (Talarigo) Bowen who passed away October 20, 2015.
Born in Stony Creek Mills, Mr. Bowen was the son of the late John and Annie May
(Halderman) Bowen. He served in the United States Army Air Corps and was a truck driver for Interstate Container in Reading for 32 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Bowen is survived by his children: John R. Bowen Jr., husband of Kay L. Bowen, of Kenhorst; Sandra L. Ruppert, wife of Barry S. Ruppert, of St. Lawrence; and Sandra E. Ziemba, wife of Todd W. Ziemba, of Exeter Township; and his 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terrance A. Bowen who passed away April 27, 2016.
Also surviving is his sister, Barbara Trievel, of Leesport, and he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred and Robert Bowen, and his sister, Lucy Howell.
Funeral Service and Interment will be held at the
convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215 in memory of Mr. John R. Bowen Sr.
