Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John and Irene (Malinowski) Kidon.
John was employed by Luppold Heating and Air Inc., as a sheet metal worker until his retirement.
John is survived by a daughter and four sisters: Patricia A. (Kidon), wife of Wilbur Shepherd, Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; Lucille R. (Kidon), wife of Mickey Fink, Reading; Irene J. (Kidon), wife of Michael Beilhart, Mohnton; and Lisa M. (Kidon) DeNunzio, Reading.
John is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Gregory L. Kidon, in 2008.
John was a veteran, having served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam conflict.
He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 and the Lower Alsace Fire Company.
John loved to garden and, at one time, had a very extensive Bonsai collection.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their sympathy and respects to the Kidon family on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home Inc., 239 S. Ninth St., Reading, PA 19602. A remembrance service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 25 Stevens Ave., West Lawn, PA 19609, in memory of Mr. John P. Kidon.
