Ken and I became friends in seventh grade at Exeter Junior High School. We lived too far apart to spend time together when not in school. I recall him coming by our house one summer day on his motorcycle, and offered me a ride. I had never been on a bike before, but agreed to go if he did not go too fast. So we were off and down the road lickety split. I hung on for dear life. When we got back home I got off and never rode a bike the rest of my life. In high school at Mt. Penn, we still retained our friendship, and often missed the afternoon session by going home instead. I don't recall ever seeing Ken after H.S. graduation, as he never attended any reunions or other such activities.
