He is also survived by nieces Stephanie M. Kendall and Taylor E. Kendall, and stepnieces Justine L. Brosky, Nicole R. Brosky and Emily J. James. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Adam A. Kenton was a 1975 graduate of Mt. Penn High School, where he was Sr. Class President and went on to receive a degree in Speech Communications and General Broadcasting at Penn State University, graduating with honors in 1979. He did internships at BBC / American University, London; BBC / Manchester, England, and Newsweek Broadcasting, New York. He produced and directed a music video while at Penn State, before MTV was "born," and was a DJ for the local radio station.
After college, he moved to CA, starting his career in the entertainment industry, living in San Diego, Thousand Oaks, Venice Beach and eventually Studio City. His career, Imagine One Productions, as art director, promoted to production manager, followed by producer; Friedland Jacob Communications as executive in charge of production, senior producer and vice president, producing over 500 campaigns for these two companies; Rare Medium, as VP of production; Xtreme Fake-overs (PAX TV Series), as producer and director; 2002-present, Randemon-ium, Inc., as producer and owner, winning over 130 awards in TV promotion.
He also worked with SAG (Screen Actors Guild), negotiating contracts. He produced and directed commercials (McDonald's, Hilton, Sara Lee and Toyota). He once flew his sister to Walt Disney World to partake as an extra in a (Nabisco) commercial. While working for three LA advertising agencies, he created broadcast promotions (Drew Carey, Judge Judy, Hollywood Squares, Rosie O'Donnell, Jay Leno, Academy Awards with Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal).
His own company produced and directed assorted projects (George Lopez, Sandra Bullock, Jeopardy with Alex Trebek, Wheel of Fortune, Monday Night Football, American Music Awards and spots for Shania Twain in the Super Bowl. Recently, his company produced a European commercial with Martin Scorese, winning a Clio Award. Throughout his career, he gained nicknames "Bub," from his beloved "Bub Club" colleagues at FJC, and "Senor Bastardo," from friend and colleague, David Radzikeweicz.
Kenton was fun-loving, fastidious, trustworthy, meticulous, successful and a perfectionist. This caused him a lifetime of joy and endless frustration. He was wide-eyed, extremely energetic and would speak what was on his mind in his brutally honest way. He was a mentor and everything a boss should be. His honesty, humor, dedication and loyalty were unmatched. He may have been small in stature but was certainly larger than life and was a "work hard, play hard" guy.
His gifts as a producer and director were abundant. Those of us who knew and loved him relied on his wicked sense of humor to get us through complicated adventures. Through hundreds of ambitious projects, he was always at the hub of the most challenging undertaking. He was both visually creative and thoroughly tenacious to the details of the economics. You could always count on him and he did it extraordinarily well.
He was a son, brother, uncle, valued employee, steadfast friend, lover of the arts, football, baseball and Southern CA. He was overly opinionated, and amazed by true talent. He raged about politics, injustice and bad drivers. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, theatre, films, entertaining and was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen. He was an avid biker, riding his mountain bike 50 miles on his "50th" birthday. He raved about good humor, amazing sunsets and biking to the ocean.
Even though he had stressful times in his career, he had fun times too, watching TV in his office ("research"), Friday afternoon stage tours, lunch dates and happy hours. Being around him was always fun, adventurous and he was...the life of the party. He tremendously valued his friends and always looked forward to visiting his family back on the East Coast, especially his nieces at Christmas.
He contributed generously to Children's Hospital of LA and was a longtime member of the Academy of the Television Arts and Sciences, attending all their events, screenings and awards. He loved, hated, laughed, cried and devoured life. He was one of a kind, gave it his all and accomplished greatly. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Services and interment are private at the convenience of family.

I was so stunned and sorry to hear of Kenton's passing. Kenton was my best friend as I began my post college career in television production. On his first day arriving in Los Angeles for a production, I let him sleep at my house. He was a kindred spirit and we became instant friends. A few years later, he returned the favor after I had left town and returned, in need of a place to stay. In the 5 years we were close, we worked, enjoyed club life, music, dancing, movies, tennis, San Fernando Valley fine dining and a wide range of other pursuits together. I sense that he is the last great best friend I ever had. Upon my marriage, we sadly parted, for reasons I'll never understand. I eventually left town, left the state for awhile. Years later, after moving back into Los Angeles I sought to make a rapprochement, forget the causes... I was too late and my best friend is lost again to me. Miss him dearly and know I'll never have as good a friend as Kenton. Hope you found peace, dude.

It was sincere saddness that I write to express my sympathies at the passing of Kenton. I worked with him for many years and as challenging as he could be I always enjoyed his presence. I know these last few years have been a battle for him. I hope he is at peace. He will be missed.

So sory for your loss. Kenton and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I grew up with Kenton in Mt. Penn. He sang so may songs. Had all these dancing moves. We had a great time. I'll never forget Kenton. He more than likely will have all of Heaven singing and dancing. I couldn't of ever had a better friend.
