Marjorie Hill

Marjorie P. (Balthaser) Hill 87 of Kenhorst died Wednesday morning in the Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg where she had been a recent guest. She was the widow of Robert L. Hill, who died February 24, 2013. Marjorie was born in West Leesport, PA on March 13, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Adeline K. (Kauffman) Balthaser. Surviving is a son, Jeffrey P. husband of Karen L. Hill of Wyomissing and a daughter Debra L. wife of Rev. Gary D. Knerr of Coatesville, PA. There are five grandchildren. A sister, Geraldine A. wife of Robert Gerber of McAlisterville, PA Mrs. Hill is a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington. She was a former choir member, substitute organist, Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher. She graduated from Muhlenberg High School in the class of 1952. She continued her education graduating in the class of 1956 from West Chester University receiving a Bachelor of Science in music. In 1972 she received her Master of Science degree in education from Kutztown University. Marjorie loved family, children, music, nature, gardening, and flowers. Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will be held from Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty Street, Shillington on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Colleen Cox officiating. Interment in Yocom’s Cemetery, Grill. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
