Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late George F. and Margaret A. (Geist) Meitzler.
She worked at the former Seipstown Manufacturing Co. for 30 years and later for other local garment makers. Her last employment was with Radius Corporation in Kutztown.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers, and the ladies auxiliaries of Lyons Fire Company, Ray A. Master American Legion Post 217 in Topton, and Robert M. Fegely V.F.W. Post 8282 in Breinigsville.
Survivors include her daughter, Mae E., wife of Joseph F. Plaksa of New Tripoli; son, Robert F. Zettlemoyer Jr. and his fiancée, Denise, of Pottsville; brothers, Leon L. Meitzler and Kermit Derr, both of Alburtis; sister, Ferne Arnold of Topton; grandchildren, Robert III, Zachary and Albert Zettlemoyer, Angela Schiebel and Jason Plaksa; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, Damon Zettlemoyer, and brother, Carl Meitzler.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd. Breinigsville. Calling hours are 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens.

To Mary Lou's family - I knew Mary Lou for a LOT of years thru Alburtis Bingo and the basket bingos at Lyons. I enjoyed her company. She will surely be missed.
