Matt was a wonderful friend to me. Someone who always, ALWAYS made me smile, even if he didn't do anything to(which was rare). There was usually a reason for my smiles and laughter but the aura that Pennies put off was one of great caring, friendship, and a love of life. It is an absolute tragedy to have life taken from those who live it so vigorously and without regret. I affectionately called him "Penny-Smasher", prolly because it was such a juxtapostion on his gentle nature. He will be missed by all of us greatly and I often think of him. Matt, love ya buddy, I wish I coulda had more time with ya....

I met Matt years ago at church camp and I was searching for him on the web today (trying to locate him on Facebook). I've though of him often and was alarmed to see this, hoping that it was a different Matt, but I see that it is not. I realize now that it has been some time. If any close family member were to contact me, I would greatly appreciate it.

I remember meeting Pennies in high school when we all used to hang out at the park in Birdsboro. He was the new kid in town, and I remember everyone saying "who is this kid whose always hugging everyone?" But that's exactly who Pennies was. The minute he met someone new, he was instant best friends for life. He expressed that through his warm hugs. He had a lot of faith in human nature and a sunny outlook on life, and I will always remember him for that.

We met Matt through our son when he came to the youth group at Exeter Bible church and instantly became one of our "kids". Always laughing, joking, hugging, so creative- and when life made him ponder his questions were so deep...about faith & life & relationships & how to be a better person..the boy could talk your ear off :) We were very shocked and saddened to hear to the news- Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with your family and all of his friends. "Pennies" will always be part of our family and our hearts-

As some others, I haven't seen Matt in a year or 2. However, I have so many great memories. No matter where Matt was in life he was fun to be around. He cherished friendships. It was never in Matts heart to do harm to others. He was a great guy and a great artist. He was one of those friends you could hang out with, doing absolutely nothing, yet still have a blast!
Matt- you will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. And the memories I have of you will remain forever.

I haven't seen Matt in the last few years, but the years I did i will remember forever. He was always happy and full of fun, always looked at the bright side of things. Youth group was always more fun with Matt there. I remember going to Maine with him along on the trip. I remember him sitting in youth group playing the guitar for us. Everyone who knew him was touched by his enthusiasm. He will be deeply missed.

Matt~ I am sad that you left us so soon, but we know that you are in a better place, waiting for us to join you. Love ya bro.

Matt and I first met at the end of middle school and began our journey into high school together at Camp Calvary. We saw eachother every summer and winter- ane our occational Word Life crew reunions mid year were always a good time. Pennypacker's smile always brought a smile to my face. He was a great friend- always ready to offer a hug or a hand to anyone who needed it. He never was looking for handouts- he worked hard and I will truly miss him. Glad to know this isn't goodbye it's just see ya later. Love, Brittany (Smith) Brown

Matt was such an amazing person. His smile was contagious, you just couldn't help but smile back. His spirit just poured out love and kindness. He always knew the right thing to say, and when he couldn't find words, his amazing smile and a big bear hug always made things better. He has a special place in my heart and I will never forget him. Rest Easy, Matthew Pennypacker.

Matt, Your untimely passing was a great shock to myself and all of us as a group of friends. You were so young and so full of life. It saddens me deeply to know that I will never have the pleasure of seeing you, sharing laughs and jokes with you, or smiling that smile I did when I would arrive somewhere and realize you were there. You were truly a blessing to this group of friends. No matter what, you were always upbeat and saw the positive side of situations and people alike. Pennysmasher ;), you were an incredibly positive force in my life. I always, but especially recently, idolized you for your wonderful outlook on life in a world that is otherwise not so nice all the time. I will miss you more than you would know and I hope to meet again in another life. Your' memory will never fade from my mind.
