Michael Deck Obituary


Michael Scott Deck, 52, passed away on March 9th, 2015, at Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

He was the beloved husband of the late Kelly P. Deck, whom he was happily married to for 25 years. Born August 18th, 1962, in Reading, he was the son of the late Peter S. and Jean R. Deck.

He was a resident of Leesport, PA, but resided in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, for the last three years.

Mike was a 1984 graduate of Rider University. Shortly after graduation, he was employed by Enersys, where he went on to be a successful salesman.

He served in the U.S Coast Guard since 2009, where he became a Licensed Captain.

Mike was a very active member of several societies including St. John's Lodge F&AM, as a Mason, the Reading Motorcycle Club, Victor Emmanuel Society and many others.

He enjoyed spending time with others fishing on his boat. He also loved to golf, camp, hunt and ride his motorcycle.

Mike is survived by his two children, Mallory N. Deck of Stratford, NJ, and Alex M. Deck of Blandon, PA. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Reading Motorcycle Club in Oley, PA, on March 28th, 2015, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Keystone Wounded Warriors: P.O. Box 475, Blandon, PA 19510 or Animal Rescue League: 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
