Michael Muth

Michael Folwell Muth, 81, of Trexler, PA, transitioned into his next life on June 3, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Abington, PA on October 25, 1941, Michael was the son of Herberta (Johnson) and Eugene Muth. He grew up in the Philadelphia area and spent many happy summers at Camp Katahdin in his treasured Maine, where he eventually owned an old schoolhouse and worked at a flower shop in Bangor. In 1976, Michael moved to the Kempton area and ran two flowers shop in the Emmaus area with his brother, Gene. On June 25, Michael and his wife, Lucetta Trexler Muth would have celebrated their 45th anniversary. Michael drove school bus for the Northwestern Lehigh School District, a job he loved, for 12 years until a near-fatal heart attack forced him to retire. After that, his days were devoted to taking care of his daughters and maintaining the grounds at his home in Trexler. His great loves, besides family, were all his dogs, the sheep passed on by his father-in-law, Albert Trexler, and his gardens. He worked tirelessly to create a beautiful landscape at their Trexler Homestead that he embraced and loved as though it was his own heritage. Michel hosted garden tours and was particularly proud of creating a magnificent wedding venue for both of his daughters. Michael will be remembered as a kind and generous man, with many friends, who loved hosting parties and entertaining folks with stories of his unique background. He was always available when someone needed help and did many things for others. Michael will be met on the other side by a lifetime of dogs, from Freckles to Foster. Although Michael had numerous health issues for many years, he was a fighter and endured much more than most. He never let his issues, or his pain interfere with doing things he loved and for those he loved. Michael is survived by his wife, Lucetta; and daughters, Adelaide Trexler (Matthew) Peters of Trexler, PA and Ashley Fetherolf (Kenneth) Myers of Glenside, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Oliva Peters, and Brayden and Charlotte Myers. He was predeceased by brothers, Herbert and Eugene. Full heart, Full life, Full moon rising as he took his leave. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10-11:30 AM, with a Memorial Service to follow at noon at the Albany Township Historical Society, 404 Old Philly Pike Kempton.
