He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Diana.
Michael was born on September 7, 1956 in Reading. He was the son of Miriam D. (Ulrich) Steffey and the late Robert I. Steffey Sr.
He graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1974. Michael was employed at East Penn Manufacturing for 38 years as a Grid Caster.
He was a dedicated employee but had many good times and great laughs with his fellow coworkers. His quick wit will always be remembered by all who knew him. Sometimes his wife jokingly said he seemed to have a little too much fun at work.
Michael was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, boating and bike riding. His free time was spent gardening and working on his house and property, and that of his mother's and other family and friends. He also enjoyed all of his time spent with his many pets.
Mike is also survived by his brothers, Robert I. Steffey Jr., husband of Wanda Steffey; and Joe Steffey, husband of Candy Steffey; nephew, Sean Steffey; niece, Shannon (Steffey) McBride; and great-nephew, Andrew McBride Jr. Michael was also predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Steffey.
Michael's wishes were that there be no services and his cremains be scattered at sea. Contributions can be made in his memory to Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, 19508. Condolences can be made online at www.MaeStumpFuneralHome.com.

Uncle mike was one of the best men to walk this earth. He was a hero to many and a friend. I miss him every single day and will forever. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. It's hard to believe he is gone but I find comfort in knowing he had a ticket straight to heaven when he passed... Till we meet again uncle mike!! I love you. Love, "niece Shannon" I will have to change your diapers from heaven since you left us too soon!! Thank you everyone for all of your love and support
